95 Trans am vs. 98 Camaro?
Trans am has, Cold air intake, MSD ignition, Cat back exhaust, 500 shift kit, Chipped. Saddly LT1... (Now he claims to have Aluminum headers put on like the LS1... idk if that possiple)
Camaro has, Flowmaster, and cold air intake, Automatic. LS1.
Who would win in a quarter mile drag, half-mile.. you get the point.
Sigh. The LT is a truck engine? That's interesting. I thought that the Vortec series were the truck engines...
The LT1 has HEADS available in aluminum, not headers. Aluminum would not work that long as header material! The heads would mean something if they were performance aftermarket; if they're stock, the iron flows as well as the aluminum, for all intents and purposes.
If the Camaro has just the flowmaster muffler and no full cat-back exhaust, this might actually be a driver's race. The CAI does nothing significant on automatics since they shift low, so that's a wash. The MSD ignition means nothing except it makes his LT1's ignition slightly more reliable than the Optispark, and any hp improvements would again be too high in the rpm range to benefit an automatic. The chip could mean something if its correct. The cat back is a good boost on the LT1 fourth gens (especially if its a Borla set up).
Its honestly too close to call - this one would have to be driven.
