Can anyone tell me where i can get a set of harley mufflers painted(powdercoated )BLACK with semigloss finish.
I have a 2002 HARLEY THAT CAME STOCK WITH "SATIN BLACK",(SEMI-GLOSS) MUFFLERS.DUE TO AN ACCIDENT LOCAL HARLEY DEALER COULD'NT REPLACE WITH SAME FINISH.I GOT "FLAT BLACK"FROM HARLEY WHICH LOOK'S LIKE POOP.IF ANY ONE KNOW'S A PAINT/SUPPLIER THAT CAN
HELP ME LET ME KNOW.PAINT(POWDERCOAT)HAS TO WITHSTAND HIGH HEAT FROM ENGINE. THANK'S
basicly, you took no for an answer from the dealer. What you tell them is, make it happen. They can, they just don't want to do the extra work. So here's what you do.
You go back to the dealership, to the head service writer or the service manager. As him for the regional service director's phone number. Believe me, dealerships don't want regional getting bothered with stuff that they should have handled properly the first time around.
If they truly feel they can not handle the situation, then they will gladly give you that number and you can call him, explain the situation, express your dissatisfaction and get some action.
That said, most semi gloss paints for bar b que's are rated to 1200 degree's. Your bikes exhaust is never going to be within 800 degrees of that, probably not even within 900.
You can always do it yourself. If they are flat black now, that would be a perfect primer.
Make sure they are clean, and dry befor you spray, long even strokes, thin coats, wet sanding between the last two coats.
