why did my 20 inch i-mac suddenly become so noisy, like the fan runs loudly all the time?
it used to be so quiet, now very distracting
If your doing intense computing, its normal. Flash (youtube, games) Vid editing, gaming etc... will cause the fan RPM to rise.
If not:
0) Spray compressed air in to the vent.
1) Reset NVRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
2) Only if step 1 & 0 did not work. Delete the System Cache in Hard Drive --> Library --> Cache. Delete the System Cache in Hard Drive --> System --> Library --> Cache. Delete the System Cache in Hard Drive --> Users --> YourName --> Library --> Cache. This will reset many system components but it could get rid of the problem.
