Does anyone put sun coral in the sump tank?
put fish,starfish or other coral in the sump?
The sump isn't generally used as a "display" aquarium. Most people use it to hold things they don't want in their display tank at the moment (aggression, predation, etc.). I know people who have put certain fish in their sumps before selling them. Also, I have heard of people putting corals in if they need to heal from an injury. People sometimes use a sand-sifting starfish in their sump to keep the sand bed stirred. Putting a sun coral in a sump isn't a terrible idea because its easier to feed and all the left over food gets put into the display, and eaten there. The only thing is that Sun Corals are beautiful corals and deserve to be in your display tank! The only reasons I would have one in a sump is because it is recovering from an injury or I'm trying to grow it out.
