Do you have to change the trans. fluid every 30K miles on a 2004 crown vic?
The ford dealer told me I need to have the trans. Fluid changed every 30K miles do you have to do this or can you wait until about 90K or 100K miles?
I change my trans fluid and filter every 30k, and also the rear end. I also change oil and rotate tires every 3k. Probably overkill, but I have never once had any driveline problems out of any Ford, and I feel aggressive maintenence is the major reason. I just like to know I have nice clean fluid in the trans, rearend, and engine. I also change coolant and brake fluid every two years, as well as a power steering flush.
Seems to me it is little spent now, to never be on the side of the road, faced with a major repair and expense later on.
